How to Shop for Jeans!

Low-rise, Mid-rise, High-rise, which one to choose?

It can be though to decide which style of jean looks best on you. You may need to ask yourself what you want your jeans to do for you. Most people want to look proportionate, but some may want to fit a certain style and symmetry may not do that. To start we need to figure out what rise of jean will look best. To figure out your best rise measure the length of your torso (from under your armpit to your hip) and then measure the length of your legs (hips to heel). Write these numbers down and scroll to find your category.

If you want to keep your look balanced and proportional you should opt for a high waisted jean to elongate you bottom half. Mid-rise wont look terrible but don’t try low-rise this will make you look short and stout. I’ve linked some examples below!

This means you have long legs like the models, show them off but I highly don’t recommend wearing high-rise as you might only look like a pair of legs. Try mid and low rise denim out it will make you look more proportional! I’ve linked some examples below!

congratulations if you’re measurements were a couple digits away from each other you’re probably proportional and you can most likely wear any rise of denim. I’ve linked some examples below

A Fit of jean for example is Bootcut, straight leg, or flared. When it comes to the fit of your jeans this depends on if your hips or your bust are your widest point. If you have an hourglass figure this might be a little tougher to figure out but I highly recommend measuring!

you might feel as tough your bust takes center stage when you wear a top or maybe you constantly feel like a pair of boobs. If this hits a little home you’re most likely a busty woman! Try and even out the proportions by wearing jeans with detail around the waist, maybe unique pockets, stitching or by adding a belt. Skinny jeans might emphasize your large bust, but a flare will look great and give the illusion of wider hips.

You might still have a large bust but your hips will still have a larger circumference. You should avoid too much detail and stick to more of a plain pant that will draw focus to your upper half, which will carry the detail! Skinny jeans are at great place to start but don’t be scared of a straight leg!

I hope this has helped in making jean shopping a bit easier I know it can be difficult to know if it’s a new look or if it’s just a bad look in general. Try not to let the trends guide you too much, stick to what you know will look good on your body, sadly not everyone can pull off the 90’s low rise baggy.
